Is there a difference between knowledge you discover and knowledge you memorize blindly?

Imagine a place where questions spark experiments, and mistakes spark learning. That parallel reality is made true and now alive in Qatar, at the Palestinian school's "Young Innovators Lab".

Through a learning experience that turns curiosity into creation and classrooms into innovation labs, 26 children (ages 10–13) at the Palestinian School in Qatar are currently exploring a new way of learning. The Hands-on activities in STEM, robotics, AI, and 3D design are put into context through a design thinking process. Results? not only novel solutions, but a considerable development in the learners' critical thinking, problem-solving, and creative skills that stick with them for life! An expected result when transforming each challenge into an opportunity to learn by doing.

Where Thinking Meets Doing

Based on established educational theories (e.g. Piaget's Constructivism or Kolb's experiential learning theory) and deep research into the learners' needs, Thinking Oasis conceptualized and improved its programs models since the early 2000s. Here, students don’t receive answers, they build their own knowledge.

“We have evolved what the philosopher Socrates once said: ‘You cannot teach a person anything except to think.’
We say: ‘We cannot teach a person anything... other than how to learn.’
Dr. Waleed Deeb

Through Socratic questions, design thinking activities, and hands-on experiments, learners explore how to ask the right questions, test their ideas, and transform what's imagined into tangible creations. Whether they’re training AI with their own data sets, assembling robots, or 3D-printing prototypes, each experience becomes a journey of exploration, curiosity, and independent learning.

But why?

Because AI, coding, and 3D printing are only tools — tools that evolve rapidly and continuously. At Thinking Oasis, we don’t just teach students how to use technology; we teach them how to think about it, question it, and innovate beyond it.

From Vision to Reality in Qatar

In partnership with New Castle educational consulting, Thinking Oasis is implementing the Young Innovators Lab at the Palestinian schools in Qatar, as comprehensive learning journey focusing on critical thinking skills development for the first time in Qatar.

Throughout the program's first phase (of two), participants engage in a series of trainings and workshops that follow this learning roadmap:

After completing the training phase, the young innovators move on to the next stage: project ideation and development. Working in groups, they identify real-world challenges, brainstorm solutions, and apply the skills they have learned to design and implement innovative projects.

A Model Designed for the Future

What makes our methodology unique is its focus on the future! It prioritizes qualifying students for a future whose challenges are yet to emerge. By acquiring a solid foundation of critical thinking skills and the ability to learn and innovate, the future's generation have just the right skills to adapt to their realities.

Along with our partner the Palestinian school in Qatar, we qualify future leaders of change that innovate using artificial intelligence!
